Our Levels of Care

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Pacific Bay Recovery offers each level of care recommended by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) so clients can step down through treatment at the pace their clinical team determines is safest and most effective. Programs include:

• Medical Detox in San Diego — Safe, medically supervised withdrawal management for alcohol, benzodiazepines, opioids, fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other substances. Our medical team monitors vitals around the clock and uses FDA-approved medications to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
• Inpatient Treatment in San Diego — Structured 24/7 residential care where clients live on-site while completing individual therapy, group therapy, medication management, and holistic programming.
• Residential Treatment in San Diego — A longer-term therapeutic community that gives clients time to build sober living skills, repair relationships, and complete deeper trauma work in a supportive setting.
• Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) — Day treatment for clients who no longer need overnight supervision but still benefit from full-day clinical programming.
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) — Nine to fifteen hours of programming per week, giving clients the flexibility to keep working, attend school, or manage family responsibilities.
• Outpatient Rehab in San Diego — Ongoing therapy, relapse prevention groups, and medication management as clients reintegrate into daily life.
• Sober Living and Aftercare Programs — Structured recovery housing and alumni support that extend the safety net well beyond initial care.

Dual Diagnosis and Mental Health

Most of the people we treat are living with more than a substance use disorder. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and complex trauma commonly appear alongside addiction, and treating one without the other rarely produces lasting results. Our dual diagnosis treatment in San Diego integrates psychiatric care, individual psychotherapy, and evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR. Clients meet regularly with a licensed therapist and a psychiatric provider who work together on a single, coordinated treatment plan.

Therapies That Work

Evidence-based therapy is the backbone of every treatment plan. Clients typically meet with an individual therapist one to three times per week and participate in daily group therapy focused on relapse prevention, emotional regulation, and life skills. Modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused brief therapy. Clinical work is complemented by holistic therapy, including yoga, guided meditation, acupuncture, and cupping therapy. Our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program prescribes and monitors Suboxone, naltrexone, Vivitrol, and other options.
