Holistic Rehab San Diego
Evidence-based addiction treatment that integrates clinical care with mindfulness, yoga, nutrition, and whole-person healing. Not “alternative” treatment instead of clinical — clinical AND holistic, working together.
What “holistic” means at Pacific Bay Recovery
“Holistic” gets misused in addiction marketing. At Pacific Bay Recovery, holistic does not mean alternative-instead-of-clinical. It means clinical-PLUS-holistic. You get evidence-based therapy, medical detox, dual-diagnosis psychiatric care, and Medication-Assisted Treatment when appropriate. Plus you get mindfulness, yoga, nutrition counseling, and whole-person practices that support sustainable long-term recovery.
What our holistic programming includes
- Daily mindfulness practice and meditation
- Yoga and movement-based therapy
- Nutrition counseling and recovery-focused meal planning
- Sleep hygiene and circadian rhythm restoration
- Acupuncture and integrative therapies when appropriate
- Trauma-informed body-based therapies (EMDR, somatic experiencing)
Why holistic matters in recovery
Substance use damages the nervous system, the body, and the relationship between mind and body. Effective recovery has to address all of it. Mindfulness builds the capacity to sit with discomfort instead of escaping it. Yoga and movement restore the body. Nutrition rebuilds the brain. Sleep regulates mood. These are not extras — they are core recovery work.
Who holistic rehab is for
Holistic programming is built into every level of care at Pacific Bay Recovery, from detox through aftercare. It is not a separate track. Clients who specifically resonate with mindfulness, yoga, or whole-person approaches often find Pacific Bay Recovery a particularly strong fit because we take these practices seriously.
Common questions about holistic rehab
Is holistic rehab a substitute for clinical treatment?
No. At Pacific Bay Recovery, holistic care complements evidence-based clinical treatment — it does not replace it. Programs that offer “holistic only” without clinical foundation are not the standard of care for addiction.
Will I have to do yoga or meditation?
Programming is structured but participation is yours to engage with at your own pace. Most clients who are skeptical of these practices end up finding them surprisingly valuable once they try them.
Is holistic care covered by insurance?
Yes — the clinical foundation (therapy, medical care, MAT) is covered. Holistic practices are integrated into the program at no additional cost.
What if I am religious or spiritual?
Our holistic programming is secular and welcoming of all spiritual orientations. Clients who want to integrate their own spiritual practice into recovery are encouraged to do so.
