What PHP provides

Partial Hospitalization (PHP) is the most intensive outpatient level of care. You attend treatment 5 days a week, typically 6 hours a day, and return home or to sober living each evening. PHP gives you the clinical density of inpatient without the residential commitment.

What is included in PHP

• Daily individual therapy with a master’s-level clinician
• Multiple group therapy sessions per day
• Dual-diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions
• Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) when appropriate
• Family therapy and structured family programming
• Drug testing and accountability structure

Who PHP is for

PHP is a strong fit for clients stepping down from residential care, clients who do not require 24/7 supervision but need substantial structure, and clients living in stable, sober environments. It is also the right starting level for clients who have completed detox but cannot commit to residential.

How PHP compares to other levels

PHP sits between residential and IOP. Compared to residential, PHP gives you nights at home or in sober living. Compared to IOP, PHP gives you more clinical hours per day, more group sessions, and a deeper level of structure. Most clients spend 2 to 6 weeks in PHP before stepping down to IOP.
